About me

Well uhh lets start simple: By now you probably already know that I call myself Backslash on the internet. I am a big fan of foxes, cats, Linux & FOSS, hating on Microsoft, the color purple, music (almost into audiophile territory), film (both as in movies and photography), trains, 3D-printing, and a whole lot of other things :D. I'm currently working as a Computer Scientist, Applications Engineer. At the moment I am developing in Microsoft's .NET suite (where 95% of my hate for Microsoft stems from) but I am also familiar with Java, C, JavaScript & TypeScript, React.js & React Native, Angular, HTML & CSS (obviously lol), SQL & NoSQL (MongoDB), Python, PowerShell, Bash, VBS and BASIC. I am very interested about learning, using, contributing to and helping to spread the word about free and open source software (FOSS) as I've had about enough of huge companies misusing their users for their data. I'm personally also really against AI as there are a lot of resources detailing their massive contribution to global climate change through their massive energy consumption. Also I would like for us people to think for ourselves because if we let AI do all our jobs, we in the end won't be able to do them ourselves if it comes to it. Stay smart out there people.

And now to address the elephant in the room: I'm also a furry and hang out in the furry fandom as much as I possibly can as it feels like my second family. As a furry I of course have my fursona, it's the purple fox you've seen all around my site, below you can find an image of him ^w^.
